Privacy.

Crest of Tech has no accounts, sets no cookies and does not sell or share personal data. This page lists the little that is processed when you visit, and why.

01

What is processed

  • Server logs. Like every website, our servers record each request: your IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and the time. They are used only to run and secure the service (finding errors, stopping abuse), are rotated automatically and are not combined with any other data.
  • Rate limiting. To keep the public API available, the number of requests from each IP address is counted for one minute and then discarded.
  • Your theme choice. If you switch between light and dark, the choice is stored in your own browser (local storage). It never leaves your device.
  • Visit statistics. We may count visits with a privacy-friendly analytics service that uses no cookies, stores no IP addresses and builds no profiles: we see totals such as page views and referring sites, never individuals.

02

The data we publish

The site shows public information about software projects: repository and package names, owners and maintainers as published on GitHub, the package registries and Hugging Face, and news articles’ titles, authors and links. If you are named in that data and want it corrected or removed, write to us.

03

Who else is involved

The site is hosted on servers in the European Union. Backups are stored with the same provider. When visit statistics are enabled, the analytics service receives the page address and referrer of each visit, without cookies or stored IP addresses.

04

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, at contact@crestoftech.com. If you are in the EU or the UK you may also complain to your data protection authority. We will update this page if anything here changes, and the date at the top says when it last did.
